TO USE OUR TEMPLATES, OPEN THEM IN PHOTOSHOP OR YOUR PREFERRED DESIGN PROGRAM.
- The striped pink border is the Bleed Area, which will be trimmed off during production.
- The outer edges of the green border (Margin Area) is the finished size your file will be cut down to.
- Make sure to size your artwork to best fit where the file will be trimmed, and to allow for Bleed. If you want to have any color extending to the end of the file, the artwork must be sized to fit over the striped pink border.
- Save the file once your artwork has been sized using the Template. Make sure the Template is either not visible or deleted from the file, otherwise it will end up being erroneously printed along with your work.
- It is recommended to save a native file with layers for the design program you are using (ex. PSD for Photoshop) and save a copy of the file to send to us in a printable format (PDF, TIFF, JPG etc.). In case you need to go back and adjust any elements of your artwork, keeping a native file with layers will allow you to do so.
BOOK TEMPLATES
These Templates are for setting up Single Pages for both Covers and Interiors for your Stapled or Perfect Bound book project. Double Page Spread Templates should ONLY be used for crossover artwork that uses two pages. ArtistExpress sets up the print-ready files with your Single Pages and any Double Page Spreads you provide, so you do not need to submit your book order completely in Spread format.
TEMPLATE: COMIC SIZE DOUBLE PAGE SPREADS

The Spine Template has Bleed set up for the top and bottom only. The spine will be inserted between the front and back of your Perfect Bound book.
By default, the Spine Template is set to the 48pg size (.123″). To size it to the page count of your book, first find your Spine Width from our provided chart. In your design program. Next, change the Image Size (make sure to turn OFF the option that maintains the image aspect ratio) to that width. From here, drop your spine artwork into the Template, size it to fit and then save the file. Keep in mind the Green area at the top and bottom of the Template is the Margin, and the Pink area is the Bleed, which will be trimmed off in production.
